The artist Marzo To is a visionary artist from Hong Kong. He has created a unique media by clashing western pop culture with traditional formats. Instant Art I and II at the Brunei Gallery in June 2003 was Marzo To’s first exhibition in the United Kingdom. Instant Art was an exhibition in which for the first time traditional Chinese rice paper hand scrolls and hanging scrolls used to feature modern pictures composed with a mixture of the latest technology and traditional brush-work. The result was a surprising mixed-media of digital pictures and painting.
