Painted from nature in Sichuan on the day of the Qingming Festival of the jiashen year (1944) by Liang Baiyun of Maoming, in the Guangdong province. Liang Baiyun (1912-1979) was born in Maoming in the Guangdong province, China. He was a student in the Fine Arts Department of the National Central University in Nanjing under the tutelage of Xu Beihong (1895-1953), another famous Chinese painter and a close friend of Huang Junbi (1898-1991). Apart from landscape painting, Liang was also a master of calligraphy and seal carving.
