Summary: B&W photographic print. 'Leopard killed in Ngabu's trap. This one may have been trapped in Mills' garden at Mokokchung. A trap is a long, low structure made by driving stakes into the ground and lashing them together at the top. One end is left open, and over this a heavy door is suspended. Inside are two compartments, in the further of which a goat is put as bait. When the leopard enters the trap to try to get at the goat, the outer door falls shut behind it. Mills would then be summoned to shoot the leopard, and a man would crawl into the trap and pull its tail to make sure it was dead, a somewhat hazardous procedure if it was not.'
