Agricultural ritual among Irulas
These Irula women are using short-handled hoes to clear a hillside (probaby for the cultivation of ragi or maize), while a group of men play drums and a flute. The drum heads are covered with buffalo hide, and the flute is a type (the nagasvaram) used all over India.
