Summary: This Nyishi longhouse is in the settlement of Talo, not far from the Apatani valley : It contains several hearths, one for each wife in a polygynous family : the slope behind is in permanent cultivation, while in front are manured fields and gardens : Like most houses in the region, it was built primarily with bamboo but also hardwood poles and posts and thatch : a few people are standing on the porch : the smaller structures are granaries.
